Ash Wednesday is February 14th!

It is also St. Valentine’s Day! Celebrate that a day early on Mardi Gras.

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics. In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence. Abstinence means no meat for everyone over age 14. Fasting means you are permitted only one full meal that day and the other two are small, not to equal a full meal together.
